Step into the enchanting world of Orangery Café, nestled within the picturesque grounds of the Ham House garden in Richmond. This charming café exudes a warm, inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely brunch or a delightful afternoon coffee break. As a true gem among local eateries, Orangery Café thrives in its unique setting, where history meets fresh, seasonal ingredients grown right from their own kitchen garden.

The café's Brunch Menu offers a tantalizing array of delicious options to satisfy every palate. Start your day with a hearty Bacon Bap (£5.00) or a savory Sausage Bap, both perfect for those on-the-go moments. For a sweet treat, indulge in their homemade Danish Pastry or delight in a slice of moist Banana Bread. If you’re feeling adventurous, pair any bap with a Hot Drink to create a comforting morning ritual.

To satisfy a sweet tooth after brunch, there is a selection of irresistible ice cream options, featuring iconic choices like the classic Magnum (£2.90) in various flavors, including White Chocolate and Mint, as well as Cornetto varieties that offer a nostalgic taste of summer. Though the prices can be slightly indulgent, patrons like Kesh M remind us that the quality justifies the cost, highlighting the fresh and flavorful options available.

The café's beautiful outdoor seating allows visitors to bask in the lush greenery of the garden, providing a serene environment to enjoy a cup of coffee or a slice of their delicious scones—highly praised by Clive Leaper for their freshness. For dog owners, Orangery Café offers a separate room specifically for families accompanied by their furry friends, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all. Just take note, as with Andy Weston’s experience, non-National Trust members will need to purchase an entrance ticket to access the café, making it a worthwhile investment to enjoy this hidden treasure.

User reviews solidify the café's reputation as a cozy haven, with Alpesh G noting that it can get busy on weekends, particularly on sunny days. This factor adds to its charm, as the bustling chatter amps up the friendly ambiance that owners have cultivated. While some guests mention a limited selection of vegetarian and vegan items, the focus on locally sourced produce remains a strong point, showcasing a commitment to sustainability that many will appreciate.

Orangery Café is more than just a place to grab a bite; it’s an experience that stirs the senses and rejuvenates the spirit. Whether you’re seeking a comforting brunch or an afternoon catch-up over coffee and cake, this local treasure promises to leave you feeling nourished and enchanted by its delightful offerings. Don’t miss a chance to revel in this oasis of taste nestled in one of Richmond’s finest gardens.

Customer-friendly cafe in one of the oldest Orangeries. I love the idea that they use as many produce as many they can from their own kitchen garden! Unfortunately the building is coverd with wisteria.

Worth the admission money alone. The finest cuisine, some of it straight from their garden, how fresh is that? Wasn't that orange if I had to quibble.

A wonderful place for coffee and cakes. An excellent selection, fresh and very flavourful. Prices are high, but that’s expected based on the location

Small cafe in Ham House garden which means you have to enter the property as a National Trust member or pay the single visit entrance first. I have always enjoyed sitting outside overlooking the fantastic kitchen garden. Usually a selection of sandwiches in the chiller, the scones are really nice and I like the hot pasties. The usual choice of coffee and teas.

Nice well kept cafe called Orangery cafe. They have a separate room just for families with dogs too. And ample seating outside too with a great view of the lush gardens. Can be quite busy during weekends. Not to many vegetarian or vegan items to eat however. There is free parking to visit the national Trust site however can not dine at the cafe without paying for entrance if not a member.
